Great color indeed. Very clean looking from the (far too few) pictures here. And if everything still functions properly, perhaps not that stupid. In this case, price will determine level of stupidity.

I almost bought another E39 I didn’t need unseen and without service history. Only the last minute bidders that bumped the price higher than expected saved me from potentially doing an expensive mistake. It was a cheap manual 530i Sport though. Maybe it’ll show up again...

They are indeed, one of the last proper Mercedes-Benzes as far as I’m concerned. Easily good for over 300k with correct maintenance, and easy to work on.
